About Gore Place Society

Gore Place is a 50-acre estate less than 10 miles from downtown Boston. We have a grand Mansion steeped in history, a working farm, and act as an invaluable community resource. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the mission of Gore Place is to preserve and promote the country estate of Christopher and Rebecca Gore as a unique community resource that tells the story of early 19th century American life.

The Gore Place staff includes 14 full and part-time staff members and is supplemented by seasonal employees, paid docents for weekends and special events, as well as volunteers. With a relatively small staff, teamwork and collaborative planning is important. We offer education programs, farm programs, and tours and talks for adults. Our operations are supported by philanthropic contributions, membership dues, facilities rentals, program revenue, and revenue from our endowment.
