The nonprofit MV Film Center (Martha’s Vineyard) is seeking a Cinema Operations Coordinator.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Cinema Operations Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the film center/cinema to operate the center efficiently (show management, concessions, maintenance, etc). The Cinema Operations Coordinator must ensure the successful execution of all film and non-film events on time. Working evenings, weekends, and some holidays are required (those who like their mornings free will love this): typical off-season schedule (September to June) is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 3-10 pm with occasional 1 pm matinees on weekend. In summer it’s 6-10 pm, 6 nights a week. Some deviations to this schedule occurs during the year when he host 6 film festival and holiday shows.

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society, Inc. is a member-funded 501 (c)(3) non-profit arts organization dedicated to screening the best in independent films, movie classics, documentaries, and world cinema for diverse audiences of all ages throughout the calendar year.  The Film Society also offers an enriched film program that includes film-related speakers and filmmakers, educational programs for both youth and adults, and special events to enhance its mission and increase the public’s appreciation of fine cinema in all its forms.

The Film Society runs the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center at the Tisbury Marketplace (Vineyard Haven), consisting of the Marilyn Meyerhoff Theatre, a 177 stadium seat configured DCI cinema and stage, the Feldman Family Artspace, and offices to carry out its programming and educational mission.

The Film Society produces the annual Martha’s Vineyard International Film Festival, the MV Environmental Film Festival, FILMUSIC Festival, SPECTRUM Film Festival (focused on LBGT+ issues and films), MV DOCUMENTARY WEEK and WOMEN IN FILM Festival (focused on women story-tellers/filmmakers).

The Film Society presents over 200 feature and short films, over 600 programs, to more than 30,000 patrons annually at the MV Film Center.
