About MPF
The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship is an AmeriCorps program at Northeastern University’s Office of Community Service & Civic Engagement. We believe that all young people have a right to the conditions and resources they need to be successful in life including: Caring Adults, Safe Spaces, Healthy Start, Effective Education, and Opportunities to Serve.
Each year, we recruit, train, and place AmeriCorps Members (Fellows) at one of our partner non-profit organizations, city agencies, and schools across Massachusetts to lead out-of-school time programming for youth in grades 6-12 focused on mentoring, academic enrichment, and college and career exploration. Throughout their service year, Fellows develop valuable career skills, experience and connections through their service, professional development opportunities and individualized support from MPF. Fellows also receive a stipend, health insurance, loan forbearance, free classes at Northeastern and other benefits, as well as join a network of over 1 million AmeriCorps alums. This is a great opportunity for those looking for a meaningful year-long service experience or a boost to their career in education, youth work, public service and/or community work.
If you believe in the power of relationship building to positively impact the life of a young person, this role is for you.
